Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the browser extension AI Companion for Google Tasks ("the Extension"), published by ozeo (Jean-Sébastien Mancebo), 14 avenue de l'Europe, 77144 Montévrain, France ("we", "us"). By installing or using the Extension, you accept these Terms.
1. What the Extension does
The Extension turns a Google Task into an AI chat with context. It lets you view and manage your Google Tasks from a side panel, attach context (such as the web page you are viewing, converted to text and stored locally on your device) to a task, and chat with an AI assistant about that task. It acts as a client to the Google Tasks API using credentials you grant through Google OAuth, and to an AI provider as described below.
2. Independence from Google and Anthropic
The Extension is a third-party tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google LLC or Anthropic PBC. Google Tasks™ is a trademark of Google LLC; Claude is a trademark of Anthropic. Your use of Google Tasks remains subject to Google's Terms of Service, and your use of the AI provider is subject to that provider's terms.
3. AI features
The Extension sends the task, the context you attach, and your chat messages to an AI model (Anthropic's Claude or Google Gemini) to generate responses — either directly from your browser using your own API key (BYOK), or, if you enable it, via a managed proxy operated by ozeo. See the privacy policy for the data flow. AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or offensive. You are solely responsible for reviewing and verifying AI-generated content before relying on or acting upon it. Do not attach content you are not permitted to share with an AI provider.
4. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old and have a Google account in good standing to use the Extension. By using it, you confirm you meet these requirements.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Extension to:
- Violate any applicable law or third-party right (including copyright)
- Send abusive, illegal, or harmful content to Google Tasks via the Extension
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, tamper with, or circumvent the Extension's security or rate limits beyond what is permitted by law
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Extension itself
6. Plans & billing
The Extension is free with your own API key (BYOK) and includes a free managed tier with a monthly message allowance. Optional paid plans (e.g. "Pro") unlock a larger monthly allowance of managed messages and are billed on a recurring monthly basis through Stripe. You can cancel at any time from the self-service billing portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and access continues until then. Prices are shown before checkout and may change with notice for future billing periods.
7. License
We grant you a personal, worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Extension for personal or internal business use, subject to these Terms.
8. No warranty
The Extension is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Extension will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with future versions of Chrome or the Google Tasks API.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ozeo will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of (or inability to use) the Extension. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — in particular, mandatory consumer rights under French and European Union law.
10. Changes to the Extension and the Terms
We may update, modify, or discontinue the Extension (or any feature) at any time. We may also update these Terms; material changes will be reflected here with a new "Last updated" date and, when relevant, communicated through the Extension's listing on the Chrome Web Store. Continued use of the Extension after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Extension at any time by uninstalling it from Chrome. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or if required by law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (privacy, disclaimers, limitations of liability, governing law) will survive.
12. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by French law. Any dispute will fall under the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of France, subject to any mandatory consumer protection rules granting you the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your place of residence within the European Union.
